Maine has a rich tradition of building boats, going back more than 400 years to the days of the Popham Colony. Rumery’s Boat Yard builds, maintains and restores wooden and fiberglass yachts for those individuals who value traditional standards of excellence.

Amtrak’s DOWNEASTER stops nearby in Saco, within view of the Yard: boat owners may now travel from New York and Boston by train to take delivery of their boat in the spring. Rumery’s Alerion 26 daysailer, the pride of her designer, N.G. Herreshoff. Rumery’s Alerion is faithful to the original 1912 design. No other Herreshoff boat in production today is as faithful to the original. We invite you to see for yourself. Trailerable and perfect for single handling. Ready when you want to sail, not dependant on the schedule of your crew!

Rumery’s 38 is inspired by Will Frost designs of the 1920-40s. This is a slender 38 footer that slips through the water leaving bearly a ripple of a wake. Her torpedo-stern and unique lines make heads turn everywhere she goes. She would make a fabulous launch for a larger yacht.

RESTORATION: The crew at Rumery’s is experienced in major and minor repairs and restorations. Please look at our project pages to see some recent work. We have done major overhauls on two spectacular ALDEN CHALLENGER yawls. We are well equipped to restore wooden yachts, and will be happy to review your wooden boat repair project with you. Our crew is always anxious to get into an interesting project. We have lots of experience with Concordia yawls and sloops.

Rumery's is a full service boat yard with staff certified in electronics, diesel and systems.

ROWING SHELLS: Rumery's has acquired the molds and tooling of DIRIGO USA and Schoenbrod Racing Shells. We will continue the fine work of Dirigo USA founder Charlie Dibble under the name SACO RIVER ROWING and build outstanding racing shells of exceptional value. As well as our own innovations we will use the molds acquired from Schoenbrod Racing Shells ltd and Dirigo USA Racing Shells to build world class boats.
